Members of the board are responsible for fulfilling the mandate of Habitat for Humanity In Yorkton.
Build Committee:
Volunteers are required to become involved with site selection and construction management.Faith Relations:
Volunteers are required to build and maintain good working relationships with the various faiths in our community.
Family Selection/Support:
Volunteers are required to partner with Habitat families and assist them with the transition from renter to homeowner.Fund Development:
Volunteers with fundraising experience, contacts among the corporate community, community groups, and foundations are required to raise funds to support the Habitat program.Public Relations:
Volunteers with experience in advertising, public and media relations are required to present the Habitat message to the general public.Volunteer Committee:
Volunteers are required for recruitment, placement, scheduling, safety training and recognition of all volunteers.
Database Entry and Administration:
Volunteers with database experience are required to help Habitat enter, manage and utilize its database information.
Website Maintenance:
Volunteers with good computer software skills are required to help design and maintain Habitat for Humanity Yorkton's website.
Mailroom:
Volunteers are required on an irregular basis to copy, collate, fold, stuff and label marketing information and newsletters.
Newsletters:
We need volunteers with writing and/or publishing experience who are interested in preparing our quarterly newsletter.
Building volunteers need to be physically fit and will work on-site under the supervision of Habitat's construction manager. Volunteers are provided with a safety training session and daily orientation to help create a satisfying volunteer experience.
Construction:
Volunteers with a wide range of skills (tradesmen, skilled amateurs, and eager helpers) are required in all phases of the construction of a Habitat home.
Food Coordination:
We need individuals and/or groups who are able to solicit meal providers and assist them in providing meals on-site for our workers.Whether you are already skilled in the construction field or you have never swung a hammer, your team can be part of Habitat Yorkton's Group Build experience..
Spending a day on a Habitat for Humanity Yorkton build is a great way for businesses, corporate groups, schools and organizations to help make the dream of home ownership a reality for families living in need. What better way to learn the value of team building, cooperation and leadership skills than by working with your co-workers and peers on this year’s build in Yorkton.
By participating in a team build, you can make a huge difference in the lives of families in need of a Hand Up, not a Hand Out - while strengthening bonds and learning new skills.
Step 1: Assign a group leader.
Step 2: Ensure all forms are completed by each volunteer.

Step 4: Coordinate the dates that are suitable for your group.
Step 5: Arrive on your assigned build day and have fun!
